The Neverending
Threes -
January 07 to Present
February 21, 2007…Yes, we have been terrible at
keeping up with our journal. Life has a funny way of passing you by.
Christmas came and went with a blast! Max enjoyed all the stories about
Santa and really got into the whole holiday. He even sat on Santa’s lap
and made sure to ask how he was going to get down the chimney. He was so
obsessed with Santa and that chimney! Grandmother Mandy (Mandy comes
from her dog’s name) came into town and got to experience Max Christmas
morning. We had all his presents lined up next to the tree and ready for
immediate play. Christmas morning was really cute. At about 7am we heard
Max’s little foot steps come running through the living room (where the
tree is located). Then we heard them stop and turn around to run back
into the living room. We sprang out of bed to see his reaction. He was
so surprised. His mouth was open and he shouted WOW. He could not stop
smiling. I think the adults had more fun! Thomas the train was a big hit
this year. Max has calmed down since Christmas, I don’t think he truly
understands what happened or that it will happen again. To this day he
still goes over to the fireplace and shouts, “Santa, come out!”
January was pretty uneventful. Max is still going to Speech Therapy 4x a
week and has Occupational Therapy 1x a week. He is excelling in school
and loves attending. We have started Max on a regimen of Vit. E and
Omegas. They have really helped with his speech and we have seen some
pretty impressive gains. His Speech Language Pathologist suspects that
Max has Childhood Apraxia of Speech. So we are doing everything in our
power to get him the services needed.
Byron's job changed and we ended up NOT moving to Washington, D.C.
Now we are moving to Oak Ridge, TN, Our move to Oak Ridge, TN is
planned for the middle of March. We have found Max a great preschool and
he will start April 2nd. We have not told him yet, but he will get to
ride the bus everyday to school. He is going to be so excited. I can’t
wait for the first day that the bus pulls up to take him to school. This
could be better than Christmas!
April 8, 2007... Well, we got settled in Oak
Ridge on March 23rd. We love our new house and neighborhood.
Max started his preschool and the Bus ride was everything we expected it
to be (check out his videos on the front page to see pure joy!).
We are still adjusting to everything. We have to find new doctors
and new therapists and new babysitters...AAAAGHHH! Moving is hard.
Max is doing pretty good. He has asked to go "Home" a few times.
He still doesn't quite understand that we are here to stay. Today
was Easter and Max got more chocolate than he needed. We met some
of the neighbors today and they came over to jump in Max's Bouncy House.
We have a big trip coming up at the end of April to Hawaii and we are
going to take Max to his Nanny's house (Gramdmommy Bright) for a week.
We are looking forward to this summer and trying to take some short
trips to local places around here. |
